Staycation ~ Days 4 & 5 ~ Whidbey Island

My parents closed on the sale of their cabin this week.  Fortunately, Denise & Dwayne closed on the purchase of their cabin last month, so we didn't have to go a day without a cabin in the family.

We went up to Whidbey Thursday afternoon.  We had some family photos taken in the morning, and things always take longer than you'd planned, so we didn't get up to the cabin until evening.  We stopped to unpack, then headed to town for dinner.  After we locked Darcy in the laundry room & started to drive off, Parker started melting-down and yelling "Darcy coming! Darcy coming!".  I think Parker thought that we were heading home & leaving Darcy at the cabin.  But eventually we convinced Parker that we'd come back for Darcy.

Friday morning, Keith took Parker for a long (25 miles!) bike ride, so Cecily & I went to town for a cup of coffee and a little window shopping.

The cabin has notably more furniture than the first time we were up there, we had a great time in the cozy log cabin.

Saturday morning, Keith took Parker to a work-day with some of his co-workers and work associates, Parker helped pull weeds.  In the afternoon, Keith & Parker went over to the Need's to help Dwayne harvest this season's crop of walls.  Then, Saturday evening, I went out (with no kids!) for dinner & a play with some friends.

I think it was a long day of parenting for Keith, I'm pretty sure he's ready to go back to work now!

It was a great week, and I could totally go for another week of having Keith home.
