Evergreen State Fair

Starting school makes it a little more tricky for us to skip a day of work and go to the Puyallup fair, so we decided to take the day & go to the Evergreen State Fair instead.  We met up with my Dad & Jared along with Dianne and Joshua & Nora.

These tractors are one of Parker's favorite parts of the fair.

Joshua's too, apparently.

Waiting for the lumberjack show.

Finally, after we saw everything we wanted to and had lunch, we let the kids go on some rides.

Cecily had a rough time with the rides this year.  Last year, they let her ride on anything, but this year they really cracked down on the height restrictions. So, Cecily got rejected from the first 3 rides she tried, and then the few that she could get on required an adult to accompany her (at full price as well).  So, we left the rides section feeling frustrated and totally taken advantage of.

But, eventually (after begging $2 off Dianne to pay for the last few rides) everyone got their three rides in and it was time to head home.  I think we wore them out.

Summer!

"Mama, do I look like I'm ready for spring & summer?!"

You'll notice Fiona sobbing in the background, she was upset that I was taking Cecily's picture rather than her's (even though Cecily was the one who'd asked to have their picture taken).

She got over it pretty quickly when I took her photo.

Painting

Gracie gave Cecily a decorate-your-own jewelry box, so she spent the afternoon painting.

Birthday Party Time!

Who's ready to party!?!?

I decided not to to a huge friend's birthday party this year, but even with just family we had 20+ people.

I didn't get any photos, but the kids had a blast playing in the backyard on the play structure.

My Dad got Keith, I mean Parker, these magic-trax cars.  They're pretty fun and both boys spent most of the afternoon playing with them.

Parker was fascinated.
