We're going to the cabin!

Denise took the kids to the cabin for the bulk of our vacation, so Friday morning I drove the kiddos up to Whidbey.

They were pretty excited.

I was a little sad to be leaving them behind and leaving the country, but they were so busy having fun they barely had time to hug me goodbye.

I worked on my selfie practice on the way home...not so great.

Bowling

We met some friends for bowling & pizza.  Cecily & Sophie probably threw the ball about 4 times between them, but the boys had a blast

New Swings!

I thought it was about time to graduate our baby swing that Denise gave Parker when he turned 1, so I've been looking for swings at the thrift store without much luck.  This week, my friend was selling a set on Facebook, so I snapped them up.

They are a hit!

I only really wanted one, but having two is actually pretty handy so they can both swing at the same time.

Cousins

I'm not sure if we've ever actually gotten a photo of all 6 cousins looking at the camera at the same time.  This time is no different.

Seriously guys, could you stand still for 5 seconds?

No?  Okay, whatever.

Summer!

I think these two have really missed each other during the school year, they are having SO MUCH FUN together.  I don't expect it to last all summer, but I'll enjoy it while it does.

Parker's dressed

He's wearing a long sleeved shirt, long pants, and Two hooded sweatshirts.  Welcome to June in Seattle.

First day of summer break!

10am: we just finished breakfast, the kids are still in jammies, and we're halfway to our first reading goal.
First day of summer is a win so far!

15 minutes later I think she was done with summer:

"I'm the big sister"

Cecily was taking such great care of her baby doll and I said "You're being such a good Mama."

She looked at me like I was an idiot (which I clearly am) and said, "No, I'm the big sister."

Sorry kid, but your chances of being a Mama someday are significantly higher than your chances of ever being a big sister.

Last day of school activities

For the past few months, the kids have been playing this "hiding from cars" game EVERY DAY on the way to school.  On one hand I hate it because they are running all over the place and I have to constantly remind them to look for cars & stop pulling on the stroller.  But on the other hand, they pretty much run the entire way to school, and that's awesome.

After about 2 hours of school, the parents were invited to join Parker's class for an end-of-year celebration.

Mrs. Holmes gave each of the kids a graduation certificate and a book about 1st grade.

Then the kids performed a couple songs & stories they'd been practicing.  It was pretty cute, but I'll spare you the videos!

After school got out, about half the class headed to Richmond Beach for the afternoon.  These boys make up most of Parker's posse from this year, they are such a great troop of boys and I hope many of them can be in the same class next year.  It's not often you find such a great group of kids who also happen to have Moms I enjoy hanging out with.

Turns out that the last day of school also happens to be our 11th Anniversary, so, to celebrate we went out for Thai food and then ice cream.  Because, when you've been married this long, ice cream with your kiddos is totally a reasonable anniversary date (well, that and the cruise we're taking next week).

Last day of school photos!

We FINALLY made it to the last day of school!

It's hard to believe these cuties made it through another year of school:

They've changed so much!

Fiona wanted to be in the photos too, but then got mad that she wasn't in them alone.

But we brought her around...

...eventually.

Crazy Hair Day

Wednesday was crazy hair day at school.

Parker already has pretty crazy hair, so I wasn't super excited about going out & buying colored hair spray for one day.

So, I tried chalking...it didn't go great.  But after about 10 coats of hairspray, chalk, chalk, gel, chalk, chalk, hairspray, chalk, hairspray there was at least a little color.

Cecily didn't participate in crazy hair day (her hair is always a little crazy too), but she did actually wear an entire outfit that coordinated for a change.

We met up with a group of Parker's friends about a block from school.
