Mexico ~ Day 8 ~ Time to go home!

Keith & Parker went to spend a little more time in the pool before we headed out.

...there they are.

Cecily had a good trip, but for the last day or two has been really wanting to go home, so she was more excited than the rest of us to be getting to the airport.

The taxi ride, waiting, and walking was more than this little one could bear, she fell asleep in the backpack while we waited for our flight.

We were hoping they would sleep a little on the flights.  They preferred to watch movies, so when we had to put the computer away as we were approaching SeaTac, they both passed out right before we landed.  Getting two sleeping children, plus all our carry-ons off an airplane at 10pm, not such a fun experience.

But, the trip over-all was great and we all had a great time!

Mexico ~ Day 7 ~ Fiesta!

It was our last night, so we went to the "Mexican Fiesta" for dinner.

...and there was a mermaid in the pool!

The girls LOVED it!  Parker was a little nervous, but eventually he went to say "Hi!"

At first, I wouldn't let Cecily get a candied apple because, oh my goodness - the mess, but when Daddy & Parker came back from the buffet with one, I let her go for it.

Mexico ~ Day 6 ~ The beach

Contrary to how it might appear in these photos, Cecily didn't really care for the beach and we spent about 15 seconds playing in the sand before we headed back to the pool

Parker & Fiona enjoyed it more:

Doesn't she just look THRILLED to be there?

That's better...

It took five days, but I finally got her to go in the pool without me...for about 5 minutes.

...same day, new swimsuit.

Parker would have happily played "bolley-ball" on the beach all afternoon.  I tried to convince him that it's actually "volleyball", but he wouldn't have it.

Mexico ~ Day 5 ~ Poolside

After Friday's disastrous trip to town, we swore to not set-foot off the resort for the rest of the vacation.

We also stuck with our enforced-rest-time every afternoon, so the kids each settled down in the room with an audiobook for an hour or so.

Here's the amazing view from our room:

We did actually leave the resort, of course, to walk next-door to have dinner at the Estancia resort next-door.

It is a longer-stay time share, and the restaurant was fancier than the one at our resort, but they seated us outside and the kids did great!  We may need to install a fountain by the dinner table at our house to soothe the kids during meals.

Yes, Cecily wore jammies to dinner almost every night, just go with it.
