Cecily's new coat

The Gymboree & Crazy 8 at Northgate are going out of business, so we stocked up on some basics, and one not-so-basic jacket for Cecily.

I think she likes it.

Just swinging & listening to Mrs. PiggleWiggle at soccer practice.

Shopping

We went to the mall and I let the kids have a ride on the "bouncy cars"

This girl dresses with flair.

I took them out for lunch and they very much enjoyed the raisins (those are their raisin fangs)

I don't even know...

Keith's Company Picnic

It was hotter than the surface of the sun, but they had Poke and popsicles so life's not so bad.

Lost Tooth #2

Parker was pretty excited that he lost his second tooth on his birthday, the Tooth Fairy even left him a special birthday-tooth note.

Parker & Cecily's Birthday Party!

It's a good thing she's cute...

Happy Birthday Parker!!

McMenamins

I texted my friend Heather: "We're going to McMenamin's to see Emily's husband perform, can you watch our kids?"
Her response was: "No, that's Jake's birthday, we'll join you instead."
These are my favorite kind of friends.

It was SO fun, great food, great music, and amazing friends.

My Little Pony Beauty Salon

We're giving away ponies for Cecily's birthday party gifts, so we bought a bunch at the Goodwill and I'm giving them all a little spruce-up.

I use fabric softener on their hair to get the tangles out and smooth it out, it took about 2 weeks to get the smell of cheap $-store fabric softener out of the house.

He lost a tooth!

After wiggling it all summer, Parker lost his first tooth!

IKEA Trip

This was one of our more eventful trips to IKEA...Cecily threw up in the car, but she was fine afterwards so we chalked it up to car sickness and continued on, then later Parker was sick for 20 minutes and then totally fine.  I'm grateful for my friend Heather who totally took it all in-stride.

Cecily found her dream home:

We saw the eclipse!

My plans for the eclipse were...well...I guess we'll go outside?  I hadn't even bought any glasses (kicking myself on that since they were EVERYWHERE when we were in SunRiver but TOTALLY SOLD OUT in Shoreline), but I managed to get two extra from my Dad.  Super planning over here!

But, the morning of, Parker's BFF's Mom texted me to say that they were at at local park, did we want to join them, and they had three extra glasses.  So off we went!

Samuel & family had already been there for hours when we got there around 9 and I was worried we'd have a hard time finding parking.  Not to worry, I think by the end there were all of about 12 people at the park.

We had a great time playing with our friends and occasionally glancing up at the sun.

Justin & I totally geeked-out trying to figure out how to take a photo through the glasses, but we figured it out eventually (it would have been infinitely easier with a 3rd hand)

My Dad & Kathy drove down to Oregon to see the Totality.  For the amount of time they spent in the car, I think our 95% was perfectly fine.
