Small Group Girl's Night!

I convinced most of the ladies from our small group to sign-up for a HipCooks class.  We did the Healthy, Fresh, & Zingy 3 class, so we made spring rolls, salmon, and raspberry souffles.  It was AMAZING!

These Spring Rolls are not as easy as they look, my first one ended up a messy pile of veggies!

Something about making your very-own souffle turns everyone into a food blogger.

Tattoo Parlor

The kids opened up a Tattoo Parlor and I got to be their client.

Parker drew three broken legs on my leg, while Cecily just colored.

Side note: have you noticed how often Parker is wearing long sleeves and long pants?  I think he's worn jeans more this month than all of winter combined.  Strange child.

The new hat

My Dad won this solar-powered hat at some trade show and handed it off to the kids.  It's a pretty big hit, and everyone is sad when the sun goes down during dinner and it stops spinning.

Visit from the Gerigs

Jeff & Katie & family came up for the weekend, so we had a jam-packed weekend together.

Saturday morning, we went to the Greenwood Car show:

Saturday afternoon, we went to Richmond Beach:

The big kids (that includes Keith & Jeff) made a driftwood fort, which Cecily decided they made purely for her.

After Church on Sunday, I made pizza for lunch.  It was apparently the BEST PIZZA EVER MADE!  At least according to all the Gerig kids.

Then we headed over to West Seattle and rode bikes along Alki

The Gerigs didn't bring bikes, so they rented one of these things:

It was quite entertaining to see/hear these five driving down the road!

Once Cecily had had enough riding and Parker's backside was sore, we picked out a spot on the sand and played & played.

Cecily went swimming even though it was late afternoon and not all THAT hot out.

After, both kids were rolling around & making sand angels.  It will be a while before we get all the sand out of their hair!

It was such a great visit!  We love seeing these friends and are always so sad to see them go.

"Mama, we're watching a movie!"

Last Day of School!

But before the last day of school, I have to figure out the teacher gifts.  With NINE teachers to buy for, this is not a small feat.  Since we were going to IKEA, I told Parker to pick something nice out for his teachers, and this is what he chose (yes, even for poor DC who I'm sure was super-excited about a blue-star lantern for his apartment!).  Then, for some reason (like I'm crazy), I came up with this idea for cute photo tags.  Two hours and 400 pages of paper later, I had them finished:

They've changed a bit in the last year:

Spidey was pretty excited about his last day of Pre-K too...

I tried to get a photo of Parker with his teachers (Carrie, Jo, & DC), but neither kid would do it.  So, Spidey & Anna got to be in the photo)

Speaking of Anna - Teacher Jo's Mom got those Anna & Elsa dolls off the West Seattle Buy Nothing group last year.  From the very beginning, Cecily claimed them as her own and looked for them the instant she was in the classroom.  They're not really designed to be "loved" by 40 kids a day, so on the last day of school, Teacher Jo gave Anna & Elsa to Cecily.  She has barely let them out of her sight since.
