Two Months!

Look how much my baby has grown!

Two Weeks:

Two months (yes, these are the same overalls):

Parker is still an astonishingly easy baby.  He loves to eat, loves his binky, and consistently sleeps 4-6 hours straight every night.  He loves to sing songs with Mama and discuss Engineering with Daddy.  He loves to spit-up right after you move away the burp rag, and laughs when you wipe his face off.  He loves to squirm & kick to make his play mat light up & sing, and he still hates baths.

Every day we are reminded of how lucky we are to be Parker's parents, and love having this little guy in our family.

People keep asking how Darcy is responding to Parker's presence.  For the most part, he just ignores Parker.  This is the only photo I have of them together, and really, Darcy was just walking past.  Oh, did I mention that Parker also hates Tummy Time?  So yes, our boy does cry, but not too often.

We love Binky!

If you haven't caught on yet, Parker loves his Binky.  As long as it's around, he'll pretty much sit quietly through anything.

So, we have to be sure we take it with us wherever we go.  And since we're not so fond of picking Binky up off the floor, we need to keep Binky clipped to whatever Parker is wearing.

We originally had a Winnie the Pooh clip that we received from Denise when Wesley decided that fingers were preferable to binkies.  The problem with the clip was that it was a giant plastic figure, attached with an itty-bitty clip.  Now, no offence to Winnie the Pooh (or Denise), but I didn't really appreciate the way he was always jabbing my son in the face, neck, or chest whenever we used it.

So, I decided to make my own.  Parker & I walked down to JoAnn Fabrics & got all the stuff.  I was hoping for bicycle-themed ribbon, but no surprise here, they didn't have any, so we settled for turtles.  The clips were sold as a set, with a piece of black or white elastic holding them together, just like we used to use with our dresses back in Jr High.  The funniest part of the clip was that they were titled "Fashion Dress Clips", um... I think they are a few decades behind if they think those clips are still fashion.
So now Parker has two new Binky-leashes that are significantly lower profile, and don't attack him in the car seat.

Oktoberfest Party

We had our 7th Annual Oktoberfest & Pumpkin Carving parting on Saturday. At best count, we had about 15 kids and 25 adults. It was a little crazy!

But everyone had a great time, and our house didn't fall apart under all that abuse. I guess this way we know that the house should be able to withstand just-Parker easily.

Cousins!  Parker finally got to meet his cousin Sarah.  Now we're just waiting on Doug & Kelly's little girl next month.

Parker loves sitting with his Uncle Jared!  Jared loves it too, until Parker starts to think about moving or crying, then Jared's ready to give him back.
The cutest little bumble bee.  (All little bumble bees need their binky)

Bath Time!

Parker does NOT like bath time (which is unfortunate, since he had to take TWO today), but he does love the rub-down afterwards.

Happy Baby!

We are so fortunate to have a very happy baby.  When he's not eating or sleeping, Parker is usually smiling and laughing.  ...not that you can tell from any of our pictures, the elusive smile is very difficult to catch in a photo.

Check out that hair!  Parker has total punk-rocker hair, all on his own.

We've been trying to teach him how to put his binky back in his mouth on his own.  So far, no luck.  His aim really isn't so great.

Leavenworth

Parker & I went to Leavenworth for the day with Grandma & Grandpa Hamilton & Jared.

We went mostly to see the Fall Colors (and to get out of the house), but the best colors were actually from Issaquah to Shoreline, the last 1/2-hour of the trip home.

Painting!

Parker took a nice long nap on Saturday, so Keith & I took the opportunity to do some painting...of different kinds.

Keith painted over the purple column in the living room, we used some of our left-over red from the basement.  It looks great.  When he finished, Keith said, "at least now it doesn't look like a Huskies living room."  After looking at it a second time, I had to ask, "so what are we now?  Cougars?"  I'm choosing to believe we just now have a non-college themed living room, whatever your affiliation.
I took the opportunity to paint the border on my paintings.  They were blending in a little too much with the Taupe walls.  While I was at it, I added a little more "texture" to the painting itself too.  I'm not sure how I feel about it, I'm not sure yet if I added texture, or turned it into an Elementary School Art Project.

Tummy time

Parker's not such a fan of tummy-time, this is just about the only time he's done it without screaming.

He does, however, love his play mat.  He's even learned how to make the star light up & play songs.

Pirates!

Parker has received so many hand-me-downs, that we've actually only bought him one outfit (and that I actually bought for Keith for Father's Day).  He's finally big enough to wear it:

Just Like Daddy

Okay, so the hat's way too big right now, but he'll grow...
As a side note, who in their right mind would label something size 0-6months, do you honestly think that something that fits a newborn would also fit a 6-month old?  I suppose what they really mean is "sometime between zero and six months, this hat will fit, but where exactly is anybodies guess".

And a few more pictures of my cute boy:

Parker is starting to be awake a little bit more, so it's getting easier to get a picture of him with his eyes open.  Of course, I'm still averaging 12 fuzzy to one focused photo.  I'm starting to think that my "auto-focus" camera isn't all too "auto" or "focus".

Parker Waking Up

Parker, much like his Mommy, doesn't really like waking up.  But, is he not the cutest thing ever?
Also, like his Mommy, he'd prefer to sleep with his hands over his head.

Sounders Game

We went to the Seattle Sounders Soccer game on Saturday.
Parker had his first bus ride, and his first sporting event.  Both of which he mostly slept through.

Grandma's Booties

Parker gets more complements on these booties than on any other article of clothing that he wears.  When I first saw these, I assumed they were just designed to be cute.  But now, I LOVE them!  They are the only socks that actually stay on his feet.  So, except for when he's wearing footie-jammies, he's pretty much always wearing his booties from Grandma.

My cute boys

We got this outfit from Auntie Mary & Great-Grandma Barb:
