Walking to school

We had a little "snow"...actually, I think this was hail.  Either way, the kids were actually excited to walk to school.

Another day, another crazy outfit for Cecily:

Parker's friend gave him this headband to give to Cecily, she LOVES it and it goes with everything.

Mrs. Holmes met all the kids outside to read Dr Seuss for his birthday.

Parker's Hair

Parker wanted me to do his hair "smooth"...

He liked it, at least.

Cecily's Ninja list

Our kids have discovered American Ninja Warrior and they are obsessed.

This is Cecily's Ninja List for Ninja Class:

If you don't read Kindergarten:

Karate
1. First Swing
Second
2. Kicking!
3. Third
Punching!
4. Forth!
!Lunch The End

(When she runs out of room, she tends to start writing in reverse/mirror image to make it fit.)

Surprised you couldn't read that.

More snow!

We barely got home from Leavenworth before it started snowing here.
Fortunately, it was Mid-Winter break or they probably would have cancelled school (not that they would have needed to, but they would have anyway).

Leavenworth Adventure

About 2 weeks ago, Keith & I were discussing how we could get away with not going to Great Wolf Lodge this year.  They best solution would be to go on another adventure that would be approximately as expensive, only without the crowds.  We looked into Victoria, or Bellingham, but somehow ended up with a ski trip to Leavenworth.

Keith is the only skier in the family, so I'm a little fuzzy on how we can to this decision, but that's what we decided, so we're off to Leavenworth.

We booked two nights at a hotel that was nothing fancy, but it had a pool and we got a suite, and it was good enough for us.  We were walking distance to "downtown" Leavenworth and we had plenty of room.

For dinner, we went to the outdoor sausage restaurant and ate around the fireplace.

I haven't been to Leavenworth in the winter in forever, the Christmas lights were still up and it was absolutely beautiful.

Tuesday morning, we headed up to Stevens to attempt skiing.

We booked the trip too late, so all the classes were booked.  So, we had one skilled skier (Keith) attempting to teach all the rest of us at once, what could possibly go wrong?

Cecily was crying before we even got the skis strapped on.

Parker actually had a good time, he slid around on the "hill" beside the "magic carpet"/bunny slope for a while, and went down the magic carpet slope twice.

I managed to go down the magic carpet slope twice as well, but I spent most of the time with Cecily who really just wanted to sit like this next to the building.

After lunch, we gave up on the skiing and Keith went out for the afternoon with a friend that we ran into while the kids & I hung out in the lodge.  I finished my book and the kids watched a movie, all-in-all not a bad (although certainly an expensive) way to spend the day.

Next year, we'll buy all three of us the 3-lesson package and let the professionals tell us what to do (and deal with Cecily).

But, skiing aside, it was a really great trip.  We had so much fun just hanging out as a family.

Cecily...

On the way home from gymnastics yesterday, from Cecily:

"Mama, I'm really strong
But I hide my muscles
You think I'm just a little girl,
but I'm a Karate-Kicking-Machine!"

In other news, our children have discovered American Ninja Warrior

Gymnastics

We signed Cecily up for a gymnastics class, and she's enjoying it, but she's been super disappointed that they haven't been using the foam pit.  Finally on the 3rd week, they went for the pit.

Valentine's Party

I helped out in both kids classes for their Valentine's Day parties.  Cecily's was in the morning and Parker's in the afternoon, so I pretty much spent the entire day going to/from or at school.

I was in-charge of the cup stacking game, Fiona managed to get her's as tall as possible.

Valentine's Day Cookies

Keith has a meeting on Wednesday at work, so he & the kids made cookies to take for his co-workers.

Notice the one gigantic cookie, that one is for Chanel, Cecily's favorite engineer.
