After a busy Thanksgiving weekend, the entire family came down sick Sunday morning. We've been staying home & laying low all weekend. So, by today Parker & I were a little stir-crazy & needed to get out of the house.
We got to the zoo a few minutes after they opened, so in addition to rock-star parking, we pretty much had the place to ourselves.
It was cold out, so we weren't expecting to see many animals, but the ones we did see were surprisingly active. We walked up to the Gorilla encounter expecting to see a sleeping blob of gorilla somewhere under a blanket, but instead, she was standing at the top of the vines. As we were watching, she climbed down & came to sit by Parker.
She & Parker sat for several minutes just eyeing each other.
I'm not sure either is all too impressed with the other.
