Since Keith has more vacation time than he knows what to do with, he took this week off. And since we really can't afford to take 5 weeks of tropical vacations a year (although I'd be willing to try), we're doing a "staycaction". We've been doing a few touristy things around the city.
On Tuesday, we took a food tour around Pike Place. It was FANTASTIC! We got to sample foods from about 10 different restaurants around Pike Place, and learn a little more about the Market.
We were planning to leave Parker with my folks for the morning, but my Mom wasn't feeling well, so we brought him along. It all started with a bus ride downtown.
We got little headsets so we could hear our tour guide without all trying to cram into the same two foot circle around him. We had a Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks. Mini Doughnuts at Daily Dozen....
We got to try several kinds of smoked salmon at "the place with the flying fish". (What!?! that's not their actual name? Weird.)
Keith even got to try his hand at catching a fish.
Success!!
The tour also included a fruit stand, Pike Place Chowder, Beecher's Cheese, and a few other spots. Except for one total melt-down at the Chowder stop, Parker did a great job, and we really enjoyed the tour. I highly recommend it to anyone. Next, I want to do the "Gourmet Seattle" tour, or maybe the Chocolate one...
