On the phone

Cecily & I were getting ready to go somewhere and I looked out the window and saw Parker had gone outside to make a phone call.

I didn't catch the whole conversation, but I did get that he was being invited somewhere but he "can't go because we are going somewhere"

He had quite a long conversation with whoever was on the other line.

But, eventually, he finished up his conversation and was ready to hit the road.
