Orlando Vacation Day 10 ~ The Magic Kingdom

Our first day in the Magic Kingdom!  We had an early entry day (all the people staying at the Disney Resorts can get in at 8 am rather than 9 am).  So, we set our alarms for 6:30 am, ready for a less-crowded morning.  Of course, by the time we got the kids up, fed, and dressed, then waited for the bus and went through security, we didn't get into the park until 8:45.  Oh well, at least we did get to go on the people mover without too long of a wait.

Cecily was super excited to find the village from Rapunzel.

It was CRAZY crowded today, we waited over half-an-hour to ride on the teacups, the ride for "It's a Small World" never went below 55 minutes all day.  But, as I promised Cecily, we made it onto the spinning teacups.  Of course, I rode with Parker, so I didn't actually get to spin.

Continuing with our "characters over rides" philosophy of the trip, we waited in-line for "Story time with Belle"

It was actually pretty cute, each of the kids got the chance to be part of the story.  Cecily was initially chosen to play the Beast, but she didn't want to growl, so they picked some other little girl.

After Belle, we got our Dole Whip and settled in to see the Parade.

After the parade, we went to visit Donald Duck and Goofy (Parker's new favorite Disney Character).

That was such a success, we went back into another line to meet Minnie & Daisy Duck.

By the time we were done with Daisy and Minnie, the skies had opened up and it was POURING!  Naturally, after not needing our ponchos yesterday, I didn't bother to bring them today.  Fortunately, I did have a waterproof blanket in my bag that Cecily could use.  Even still, it was pouring absolute buckets, with rivers of water flowing down the streets and the sun had gone down so it wasn't really a warm shower either.

Because we are terrible parents, we forced our kids to go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at that point.  (The line is only 20 minutes!  It's under cover!).

They didn't love it, but they hated it less than that Bug's Life show from yesterday.

After finding some hot dogs for dinner, we gave up and headed back to the condo.  We'd been hoping to stay until close, but we were back at our hotel by 8pm, score one for Florida Weather, 0 for carpe-ing the diem.

Of course, by the time we got back to our hotel, the rain had finally stopped, but at that point we were done.
