The last week of school Parker kept saying "FINALLY, Mama, it's finally the last week of school!"
But a few days into the break, the kids were at each other's throats and fighting like crazy. So, I implemented the Gottman-style 30-second hug, every time they started fighting they had to hug it out for 20 or 30 seconds. It worked remarkably well, at least for a little while.
Our neighbor had workers on this roof for most of the day, so Parker spent much of the day sitting on the kitchen counter.

If only they'd go down this easily at actual bedtime.
