Cecily's First Trip to Lakeside

A few weeks ago, Dianne sent me an e-mail saying that she & Nora were going to the Mother/Daughter retreat at Lakeside and asking if we wanted to go.  I thought, "Why not, I hate sleeping, it sounds like fun."

Lakeside Bible Camp is the camp that we grew up going to up on Whidbey Island.  The first time I went, I was 6 weeks old.  We then spent 3-4 weeks (or more) there every summer.  My last summer of college I lived up there on the Summer Staff.  With the exception of a day-visit when I was pregnant with Parker, I haven't set foot on the property since then.

Cecily was, admittedly, a little young for this retreat, but she enjoyed running around and having Mama's undivided attention for two days.

Dianne brought Nora & her little 4-month-old boy, so once our roommates saw us walk in, they moved to the other side of the cabin, leaving us the whole cabin to ourselves.  This was handy since the second night (after Cecily sleeping on my face Friday night), I put her in the pack & play in the shower room and closed the door.

Cecily especially appreciated the chocolate cake on Saturday night:

I don't know if we'll go again next year, but we'll certainly plan on it when she's a little older.
