I have never for a second doubted Keith's value in our family, or his "what a nice boy" designation. But nothing brings to light a husband's true personality better than the first three months of pregnancy. Keith has been such a trooper. I don't think I've had the energy to do more than move from sleeping on the couch to sleeping in the bed in the past few months, and Keith has taken care of everything else. I'm not sure he'd like to admit how much cooking he's been doing. In addition, he's proving to be super handy.
Shortly after we bought our house, the carbon-copy of our house down the street went up for sale, so of course we had to go check out their Open House. For the most part our house is far superior (and bigger, I swear), but in their basement, they had added a wood shelf along the foundation-ledge, which made the room look much more finished, and the wall a little less like an accident. So, I put Keith to work. We had a little frustration with the finishing (our first attempt looked like chunky putty), but the final result is beautiful:
He also built my vegetable garden so I can kill, I mean, grow our own vegetables this summer:
I'm super excited about our garden, hopefully my seeds do well, they are looking pretty pathetic at the moment.
And, remember that bathroom Keith painted yellow to get rid of the smell? Well, sadly, all it did was change the color of the smell. So, we were not-so-happily looking forward to the prospect of ripping out dry wall and re-making a perfectly good bathroom. But before we went down the $10,000 road way, Keith thought he'd try out the $5 solution first. So, he replaced the doohickey in the toilet, and the problem is cured! I don't know what he did exactly, or how he even knew how, but he did it and that's why he's my super-hubby!
And yesterday afternoon, when I came home from an exhausting marathon of maternity-clothes shopping, he'd vacuumed the entire house (which is no small feat in a house this gigantic).
