Downtown Christmas Adventure Day!

This is my VERY FAVORITE DAY of Christmastime.  Traditionally, we go downtown on the kids' in-service day in December, but they didn't have one this year, so we took the kids out of school early on Friday and met Keith downtown.  Dad & Kathy were...somewhere, so Jared was with us for the week too and came along.

Honestly, I don't know why she was crying, but eventually she got over it and actually enjoyed the carousel.

We tried out these fancy-pants waffles on a stick in Westlake.  They cost a fortune, but they were yummy.

We took the monrail over to the Centerhouse to drive the trains.

It was jammie day at school, I took the kids home after picking them up, Cecily chose to change clothes, but Parker wanted to stay in jammies.  So, if it looks like he's wearing spider-man jammies, he is.

We also visited the playground near the EMP.

Then, back to downtown to see the Teddy Bear suite and giant gingerbread house at the Fairmont Olympic.

Cecily would happily live here for the rest of her life.

The theme at the Sheraton Gingerbread Houses show was "Elves", they were pretty impressive, and much more enjoyable without the 2-hour wait from last year.
