Mom's Memorial

We had Mom's Memorial Service at Dad's church.

The church ladies did up a nice tea for the reception and we decorated the gym with a bunch of Mom's quilts.  It was a really nice service and I'm sure Mom would have loved to see all the people who came to pay their respects.

I think we probably had 150-200 people and it was great to see so many people from my childhood and before.  I was exhausted and hoarse by the time we went home after the reception.

Parker's soccer class

I couldn't get my act together enough (back in April) to sign Parker up for a soccer team this fall, so we signed him up for a "Kidz love soccer" class.  He loves it, and he's learning a ton.

Am I the only person who thinks his coach looks like one of Santa's elves?

I'm pretty sure this is why people have girls.

The kids needed Thanksgiving outfits, so Cecily & I drove up to the Marysville outlets and went shopping.

Of all the things I bought her, this 50-cent ride was probably her favorite.

Then, we went out for lunch.

Shopping & going out for lunch were one of my favorite things to do with my Mom, so I'm excited to share it with Cecily.

...although, truth be told, Parker is the better shopping companion, he just loves the experience, Cecily can get a little greedy and wants EVERYTHING she sees.

Cecily & I actually do look similar!

Date Night!

Our friend turned 50 this year, and he invited us to join him & family/friends on a distillery tour through Woodinville.  It was SO FUN!!

We started at JP Trodden Bourbon.  I've never been a bourbon drinker, but this stuff was amazing, they also have a barrel-aged maple syrup that was ridiculous.

Next, we tried Vodka, Gin, & Absinthe at Pacific distillery.

And then, our favorite stop, rum at the Four Leaf Spirits/Puget Sound Rum Company.

The guy who did our tasting was very engaging, and a former Civil Engineer, so there's hope for Keith still...

Then, we ended the evening at a new little restaurant/wine bar in Woodinville Tandem.  Denise - I would TOTALLY recommend this place for a date night, it was AMAZING and they use tons of local foods/drinks.

What a great way to spend the evening,  I can't wait to turn 50, it seems like a lot of fun!

First Tiny Zoo visit of the season.

Parker didn't have school (yet again), so we headed over to Swanson's to see if they had the reindeer set up yet.  The festival started the next day, but they were getting the reindeer settled when we got there, so we got to see everyone.

Here's Parker's pictorial Christmas list for Santa: All the "adventure" gear.

He spent the entire drive home talking about how he would play with each of the toys.  Slow down, big guy, let's wait for Thanksgiving at least, okay?
