Parker's Slip & Slide

Every once in a while, Parker wants to run in the sprinkler, usually I ask him if he wants to and he looks at me like I just asked him if he'd like to have his teeth cleaned.  But this day, he decided that he wanted to, no actually, MUST run in the sprinkler, RIGHT NOW.  In his eagerness to sprinkler-run, he threw the sprinkler down the stairs, breaking the piece that makes the sprinkler go back & forth.

So now, the sprinkler goes all the way around, spraying water directly into the ground for the bottom third of it's spin.  Whatever, he had a great time.  I suppose it's a good thing we don't use the sprinkler for actual watering.

Oh yes, he's wearing goggles.  This boy is not stupid.

Slip & Slide

The kids have been loving the sunshine, and playing in the water.

We went over to our friend Ella's house to play in the slip & slide and run around in the sun.

Dancing

I came out of my room, and found both kids dressed up in their finest.  They informed me that they were dressed up because "We're getting married and we're having dancing"

Part of Parker's dancing involved wrapping his arms around Cecily bear-hug style & lifting her off the ground.  I told him that's not how we dance and he informed me: "That's how Prince Hans dances with Anna"  Well, I can't argue with that.

Cecily loves a good twirl!

"Mama, I can't find my bathrobe!!"

Is it in your room?
No!
Is it in Mama's room?
NO!
Oh, it's in the bathroom!
NO IT'S NOT!  It's not, it's not, MAMA! I can't find my bathrobe ANYWHERE! It's not in HERE! No, it's NOT! WAAAHHHH!! {insert hysterical crying here}

These children are going to be the death of me.

Motor-homes are just about the best invention, ever

For Father's Day weekend, the Kruger family headed up to Larabee State Park in Bellingham to go camping.

It was our first trip in the RV.  We loaded the Need family in with us and hit the highway.  The motorhome was a hit!  The kids loved playing while we were driving along.

The grown-ups didn't mind it either.

All through Marysville, Cecily was looking out the window saying "Fancy, Fancy, Fancy..."

The kids all started out on the couch, but eventually spread out.

The girls ended up on the bed in the back,

and the boys were "napping" under the dinner table.

We brought along the kid's fishing poles.  They don't actually catch fish, but otherwise they are good for hours of entertainment (and even more hours of untangling fun for Mama)

Cecily was dancing:

The kids are playing hide-and-seek, can you see them?

How about now?

This was our attempt at getting a photo of all the grandkids together...hopefully Denise got a better shot.

Last day of school!

This is Parker's best friend from school, Amir, and his little sister, Sophie.  We played with Amir & Sophie after class nearly every day.

Family Biking Adventure

It was a beautiful day, so we decided to take the kids on a bike ride to a park for dinner.

Clearly, they are thrilled...

IKEA Trip

Cheese!

I took the kids on an "Adventure" to IKEA.  They especially enjoyed trying out all the beds.

After waiting half-an-hour in line to check them into the play area, we were informed by the not-especially-sympathetic worker lady that Cecily was 1/2" too short to play.  I'm all for following the rules, but this was ridiculous.  So, I had to leave Parker at the play area alone & finish up my shopping with a sobbing Cecily...it might be a while before we go back to IKEA.
