Mexico ~ Day 4 ~ Trip to Town

We decided to take a trip to town on Friday.  It ended up being kind of a disaster, the bus we took only took us from our hotel (Nuevo Vallarta) to the edge of Puerto Vallarta, so we had a long, hot walk to get to the center of town, with two cranky children.  Once we were there, they perked up with a little food in their tummies.

Of course, once we'd had our fill of ice cream, we still had to get home, which was another adventure in bus riding, and eventually ended up with us wandering into a random plumbing store in the middle of nowhere and ordering 2 taxis to take us back to the resort!

Subtitle: This is what I did while everyone else ate dinner.

It's hard to spend the entire day swimming and then expect to sit still through dinner, or at least, that's what Cecily would have you believe.  So, we ended up wandering down the beach for most of dinner. (We also implemented non-negotiable quiet time all the following afternoons)

We're on our way!

We crammed 7 people in the minivan and made our way to the airport.

Parker finished half his (gigantic) homework packet before we even got on the plane.

We made it!  Welcome to Nuevo Vallarta!

Happy Easter!

We were originally planning to go to Denise's house for her annual Easter-Extravaganza, but the Need kids got sick and we decided that with our vacation two days away, it was better to stay home than risk getting sick.

So, we threw together our own Easter Egg Hunt at home.

Keith put one chocolate chip or one mini-marshmallow in each Easter egg and scattered them around the living room.  It wasn't fancy, but it was pretty exciting for the kiddos.

Bad Apples

I took the kids to see Parker's school play, Bad Apples.  It was a little long for the two of them (it ended at 8:30pm!), but they loved the show.
