Christmas Break - Burke Museum

We went to the new Burke Museum.

Then, we headed over to U-Village for lunch and a little climbing on cows.

No School Day

No school days = Jammies and reading all day long.

I helped with Parker's Halloween party at school.

There were 5 Spidermans (Spidermen?) in Parker's class.  Technically, Parker is Miles Morales, but it's pretty hard to tell when he's in Spidey form.

If you can't tell, he's the one on the left.

We went trick-or-treating with Samuel & Friends this year.

We had a blast and the kids raked it in.  We again had to use candy to bribe Cecily to keep at it for the last 15 minutes or so, but she made a pretty good haul, so I think she found it worthwhile.

School Picture Day

I like to take photos of the kids before school on picture day, just to compare how they look when I leave them, to how they ended up by the time photos were taken.

Unfortunately, in Cecily's case, she didn't change much.  I wasn't expecting that headband to stay on the whole day, but whatever.

First Day of School!!

We had a great summer, but the kids were ready to get back to school and see all their friends again.

I tried to get a decent first day picture of Cecily but she was NOT FEELING IT.  So, these were the best I could get.

Nearly all of Cecily's friends are in her class this year, but the one friend she especially wanted isn't so naturally the ENTIRE YEAR is going to be a DISASTER!!

Meanwhile, none of Parker's close friends are in his class and he's totally cool with it, "I'll just make new friends this year."

Our children are very different.

Last day of school!

After a weeks snow-delay, we finally made it to the last day of school!

Family Drawings

I was walking down the hallway at school and saw Parker's drawing of our family.  Interestingly enough, there are 6 people in our family.  "Parker, who are all these people in our family drawing?"  "It's Papa, Kathy, Mama, Daddy, Parker, & Cecily"

K-2 End of year concert

We have to sit behind all 400+ elementary schoolers, so the view is garbage, but they're up there somewhere.

Pacific Science Center Field Trip

I got to go on Cecily's field trip to the Science Center.

Cecily got to hold a cockroach.

The girls had a great time, even if Elle's sandwich was stolen by a crow when we sat down for lunch.

Happy Halloween!

I organized Cecily's class party, so I had to dress up.  I've used my Dr's Lab coat, and my poodle skirt, so I've pretty much used up my entire store of costumes, so I'm the Mama Cat to Cecily's Kitty Cat.

Cecily was not in the mood for photos when we got home.

Parker, meanwhile, insisted on wearing his new vampire teeth.

Time for Trick-or-Treating!

Cecily is a Kitty Cat.

I bought her a Pirate costume (that she picked out), but a month later, she decided she didn't like it.  I informed her that she could be whatever she felt like, but I would absolutely not be buying her another costume. ...Instead, I bought face paint, a black t-shirt, and black leggings instead. So much for my ideals...

Parker was Dash from Incredibles 2, NOT Mr. Incredible as everyone seemed to assume.

This is a house we walk past on the way to school every day, he starts decorating in early October and adds more every few days.  It's quite a spectacle.
