Back-to-school photos!

Who's excited for Kindergarten?

Who's excited for Pre-K?

Who's ready for school to start?!

Okay, now show your silly faces

And, since you can't ready the papers at this distance:

Although Parker has now informed me that he wants to be a Baseball Player, not Football, who can keep track?!

Getting ready!

Cecily is having a hard time deciding how she feels about today.  She's about 50% happy/excited:

and 50% sad on the verge of a melt-down:

But, to be fair, I feel the same way.

Back-to-school day

On Tuesday, both kids schools have an Open House to meet the teachers and see the school.

We started at Parker's school to meet Mrs. Holmes and drop off his school supplies..

We found the lunch room, library, etc. but Parker really loved the playground.  We played several pretend rounds of pickle ball and kickball.

Then we headed over to Cecily's school to check it out.  She's in the same 2 classes that Parker was in last year, so she's pretty familiar with everything.

I think both kids will have a pretty good year.

Parker has been SO excited about school, but last night he started to get nervous.  I think it's hitting both of us that he's moving into a new stage of life.  I'm excited for him, but I miss my happy little baby boy, it feels like yesterday that he was toddling around the house and how he's in Elementary School!

We're ready for the first day of school!

I turned my back on the kids for 10 minutes and came back upstairs to find this:

Guess she's ready for the first day of school!
Now that I think of it, the house did seem kind of quiet.

Cecily got some new clothes too.  It's hard to read, but her shirt says "so sparklin' cute" in glitter and her leggings are covered in glitter hearts.

Homework

As part of Parker's back-to-school packet, he had to write a small poem about himself and attach a photo.  Turns out we don't have any good/current photos of just Parker (Parker & Cecily or Parker & Fiona, we have tons, but not so many of just him), so we had a mini photo session.

The final result:

It took all four of us to write this 11-word poem, it could be a long year!

Children's Museum

Fiona had a playdate and it was sort-of the last day of summer (if you don't count Labor Day or the back-to-school day), so I took the kids up to the Everett Children's Museum.

Unfortunately for Cecily, nearly all her favorite exhibits were closed or missing, so she was pretty sad & cranky for the first half of our visit.

Thank goodness for the baby piggies, I think they saved the day.

...and the floating veils.

...then back to the piggies.

Once they were all worn out, we went out for lunch at Red Robin, Parker & Cecily's very favorite restaurant.

After that, we went to Costco and bought everyone a new costume.  All-in-all it may be the very BEST DAY EVER!

Sassy-pants twinsies

Of course, by the end of the day, both girls were wearing something completely different.  Cecily put her dress on yesterday and it was 2 sizes too big, apparently we sent the wrong one home with Fiona!
