Mexico Vacation ~ Day 5 ~ Loreto

We took the shuttle bus into downtown Loreto for the afternoon.

The kids loved playing in the gazebo in the town square.

Parker "remembers" playing on this sculpture last year, so he was very excited to climb all over the sea lion sculpture again.  ...Cecily's not so sure.

Parker was super excited to see a few of these baby pelicans flying & swimming around.

Look, a family photo!

...sure we're not all looking at the camera at the same time, but we're all in the same frame, so that's a win.

We stopped for ice cream before we headed back.

Ordering ice cream from someone who only speaks Spanish, when you only speak English, is a bit of a gamble.  We pretty much picked according to color, and ordered by lots of pointing.  Cecily ended up with strawberry and Parker got bubble gum.  He pretty much had blue dye coming out of his pores for the next two days, but he sure enjoyed it.

At least it matched his shirt...

Mexico Vacation ~ Day 3 ~ "Hiking"

Every once in a while, these kids can entertain themselves for a few minutes.  It doesn't happen often, so I have to snap a photo for posterity.

The view from our porch:

The resort will eventually be surrounded by a golf course, it's currently under-construction, so we decided to take a walk up the hillside to see what's happening.

Cecily insisted on taking her backpack on the "hike"...which pretty much meant that Keith spent 90% of the walking carrying both Cecily and her backpack.

That's the resort in the background.

Parker decided to switch his hat around from the "Star Wars" side to the polka dots side for the walk down.

Mexico Vacation ~ Day 1 ~ On our way!

The Shuttle Express van came at 2:45am (or more accurately, it was scheduled to come at 2:45, it actually came closer to 3:15), so the kids spent most of the day in their jammies.

Parker got to watch the sun come up over the airport before we took off.

I was really nervous about the flights & making our connections after last year's experience, but this year it went great, we made our connection with plenty of time to go get lunch...or second breakfast.  I'm not sure what you call your second meal of the day when you eat it at 9:00 am and your next meal won't be until 4 pm.

Cecily stayed awake the entire flight and through all the travel.  Then, she fell asleep in the van, five minutes away from the resort.

Well, at least for the first night, they both went to sleep easily.
