Silly Daddy!

Every weekend, Keith wins the Super Daddy award and takes 8-10am shift with Parker so I can sleep in a little.  It is wonderful to have a little time to be lazy in bed without worrying when the baby will wake up.

Of course, this shift usually means that Keith picks out Parker's outfit for the day.  So, this morning, when I went to get Parker up from his first nap of the morning, I found him dressed like this:

When Keith heard me laughing, he asked, "don't the snaps go in the front?"  Well, yes, sometimes the snaps can be considered decorative, but probably not when the other side of the shirt looks like this:

Silly Daddy!

Still, I'll willingly sacrifice a backwards tee shirt for a few more hours in bed.

Just Workin'

Keith had to get some work done Saturday morning, so Parker helped him out.
Parker's learning all about grading & storm water drainage, you should ask him about it next time you see him.

A new favorite tradition

There's just something inherently elegant about having your tea in a real teacup, out of a tea pot, on a silver platter.  Even though I might be drinking said tea while I shop for groceries on-line or even (horrors) updating my Facebook status, it feels like a little peaceful break in the day.  ...even if you pan out to see that the tray is sitting on a stack of un-paid bills and next to the printer.

Keith's latest project

We've decided to install a rolling gate to the end of our driveway to keep errant dogs & children contained.  Although it wouldn't be such a tragedy to lose Darcy, we're kind of attached to Parker and aren't interested in having him run down the driveway into the abyss.  So, Keith ordered this gate kit to create an enclosed yard.  It's all assembled now, so we just have to wait for a sunny/dry day to dig/set the concrete footings for the gate...sowe're hoping to have it done by the time Parker's three.

Zoo!

Parker & I got a zoo pass for Christmas, but we haven't gotten around to using it yet.  So, Saturday afternoon we headed over to check the place out.

We, of course, saw the Meerkats exhibit.  Considering the huge media blitz they did when it opened, the actual exhibit is pretty tiny, but they still are cute.

When we got there, all the Meerkats were piled up together to keep warm (except for the 2 standing sentry).  But apparently the flash from my camera scared them.

Before:

After:
Hey, where'd everybody go?

Oh, here they are, hiding in the other window.  Sorry guys!

Mexico Vacation!

After "enjoying" a few months of our lovely Seattle winter, we decided it was time to head South to get a little sunshine.

Parker was quite excited to prepare for his first aero-plane flight.

Our flight wasn't full, so Parker got his own seat.  He fell asleep almost as soon as we got on the plane, but the noisy engines woke him up as we took off.

Parker took to vacation pretty well, although he didn't do quite as well at his napping.  He's supposed to be sleeping in the below picutre, that's why he's all wrapped up.

Parker had a great time with Grandma Hamilton.  Grandma loved holding Parker.  Several times she said, "I get to keep him.", but somehow she never came to claim him when he was crying at 2 am.

In downtown Cabo San Lucas:

We took Parker swimming almost every day.  The resort had a fantastic children's pool that was heated to 90-95 degrees, we could spend all day in there.
The weather wasn't all that great, it was overcast & low 70's most of the time, so we loved the kid's pool just to keep us warm!

We did have two good days of sunshine.  And, of course, the last day was beautiful.

This is the only photo of the three of us from this vacation.  Unfortunately, I didn't realize until later that the auto-focus had been turned off, so our one photo is out of focus.  At least it's user-error and not my wonderful new camera.

Our last day, we headed to the next resort down and had lunch in their restaurant...
Which was a PIRATE SHIP inside the pool!

Our last day...  getting in our last few hours of sunshine while we waited for our flight time to come.
