The Annual Need Family Easter

For the first time ever (that I've seen anyway), Parker voluntarily climbed into the trampoline & jumped around.  Our little guy is getting more & more adventurous.

Denise & Dwayne hosted their annual Easter Egg Hunt & Dinner.  It took a while to peel Parker away from his bat & baseball to start looking for eggs, but once he got going, he had a great time.

We never did find one of his eggs, so if you happen to come across a blue egg sometime this summer, it's Parker's.

But he got plenty of stickers, candy, and play-dough, so he had a great time.

Don't you love the sunglasses?  I'm not sure I've seen him wear them on his eyes yet, but he does love wearing them.

Easter Morning

Parker participated in the Easter Egg hunt at church.  We were a little late to the party, so most of the kids were done, so he wasn't really into it, but he got a few eggs to bring home.

Easter Bunny

The Easter Bunny stopped by our house Saturday morning (he figured we'd have enough going on Sunday morning).

Cecily got her own pink teddy bear, now she doesn't have to steal Parker's Blue Bear.  (She doesn't HAVE to, that doesn't mean she won't)

I think she likes it, and apparently it's yummy.

Parker got sunglasses from the Easter Bunny.  He was with me when I bought them, so for weeks, he's been asking about his sunglasses.  I've been telling him that the Easter Bunny has them and that he'll bring them back on Easter.  Apparently, Parker was under the impression that the Easter bunny stole his sunglasses and returned them on Saturday, because he spent the whole day saying, "The Easter Bunny came back with my sunglasses!"

Zoo Trip!

It's a sunny Friday, so we (and the rest of the city) went to the zoo for the morning.
Parker is still afraid of the monkeys, but he loved everything else.

He was trying to "swipe" the sign to get it to work:

Cecily didn't see much, but she enjoyed her lunch.

Sleeping

There are few things cuter than a baby sleeping with their little bum up in the air.

Cecily has recently started sleeping on her tummy, so we had to lose the swaddler.  It took a few nights for her to get used to it, but now she's fine.  AND, in the past week, she has often only woken up twice in the night, last night she slept from 11:30 to 5:30, that's pretty darn exciting.  With that sort of stellar sleeping, you'd think that I'd feel more rested, but I think I still have a ways until I make up my sleep-debt.  But it is certainly movement in the right direction.

I also took her in for a flu-shot and weight check on Wednesday.  Cecily is 14lbs, 11oz, and 25.5inches.  So, she has gained an inch and nearly a pound in the past month.  Perhaps it's the whole avocado she's eating some days.

Easter Eggs

Parker woke up early from his nap, so we took the opportunity to dye some eggs while Cecily was still sleeping.

We gave up pretty early on the little wire dipper.

The eggs after their second (or maybe third?) round of dipping.

Look at those hands!

This boy...

Parker has fully embraced his "2-ness" in the past few weeks, so he has been equal parts frustrating & adorable.  The reason he & Cecily are alone in his room in these photos is because he'd pushed so hard his Mama was having a melt-down in the room next-door.  How is it possible that I can be out-witted by someone so tiny!?!

But they are cute together.
And, when Parker is being nice, he is the sweetest, funniest guy ever.
So, to remember the good times, a few of Parker's current moments:

Parker has taken to asking if Daddy is "comming over for dinner".  I try to explain to him that Daddy comes home AT dinner time, but that is different than coming over FOR dinner.

Parker LOVES playing church.  He knows the schedule perfectly:
Story time!
Say our prayers ("Jesus loves me, AMEN!")
Snack time!
Song time! (he usually then sings his mash-up of Jesus Loves Me, Twinkle Twinkle, and the Itsy-Bitsy Spider)
Yesterday, he took it to another level and included Coffee Time!
He then used Cecily as his air pot, pushing on her head and putting the cup in-front of her mouth for the "coffee" to come out.
